Two Saturdays ago, we went to Logan for my cousin's wedding. We decided to make a day of it, since I'd been hoping to plan a day trip there this summer anyway.
We started off at Cox Honeyland, where I got some raw, organic beeswax (to make chapstick and stuff) and some honey. It was a lot of fun trying a free sample their AMAZING fudge (seriously, salted caramel fudge, mint chocolate, raspberry lemon...shazam!) and looking around at the fun stuff. I was really happy to be able to buy some locally grown, raw and organic honey for a decent price! (Don't get me started on why I feel so strongly about us buying our honey local, ha ha.)
After that, we headed to the Rendezvous Park, which is where the trailhead for our walk was located. Except that once we got there, we saw no trail! Well, that's not true; there was a trail, but it was only 2/10 of a mile long, if that. So we crossed the bridge and followed a small trail on the other side of the river, which again, wasn't long, but it was nice and cool in the shade, and we had a good time skipping rocks and pretending to be explorers. We had a good time watching the fish swimming around, too.
So, the moral of this "hike" story...if you're in Logan, this is a fun place to stop and spend 20-30 minutes exploring, maybe even to have a picnic. Just don't plan on a long walk. There are some nice benches there, and you can relax and enjoy the quiet solitude there. We'll probably stop by again here the next time we're in Logan. (Oh, and I can't forget to mention that the bathrooms at the parks in Logan are incredible!! Very nice.:-))
Anyway, afterwards we went to the Providence City Cemetery, and then spent 15 minutes at a playground. We followed that up with a trip to Gossner Food to buy ourselves some "squeaky cheese" and milk, and then we headed to the wedding reception where we spent the rest of the evening!
